I was determined that this year we'd have the fireplace functional for the winter months. Someone suggested that we contact a plumber instead of the fireplace specialists, so that's what I finally did. Thanks to Aardvark Plumbing, who sent someone out this afternoon, we now have a warm and cozy hearth. And, yes, I am a happy camper!
Here's a picture, looking from our dining area, through the lit fireplace (which is glass on three sides) into our family room. And as a BONUS, you can even see the red leather sofa!
All that's missing, now, is a rainy day, a good book and a cup of cocoa.

Sounds like an entry for Angie's List in your area; good customer service needs to be rewarded. We had problems with ours, too, but luckily the other firm in town will service something they didn't install.

WOW....it looks like such a beautiful fireplace...too bad it took this long to get it repaired!! And your red couch look terrific! Good job!
Come on up...I can provide...almost at a moment's notice...the RAIN, book, and cocoa. You may not be able to SIT and read that book because I have my own Sweetpee and Sweetpoo here a lot.
XXOO,
Gloria
Gloria, I'd love to take you up on that sometime :-) But right now I am chained to a desk at UNM every morning. Makes it hard to get away. And when they do turn me loose, I always seem drawn to Sweetpea!
